FESTIVAL OF NEW STUDENT WORKS

The Story 2 Stage Festival is an exciting family-friendly performance for all ages. Submissions are open to all students in the state of Missouri. (Submitting playwrights do not have to participate in the residency to submit.) Then we connect with all honorees and invite them to a Mentor Day where they will meet the designers and directors of their plays. Students will also have the opportunity to add some finishing touches to a second draft of their play and work with professional playwrights and members of The Rep's artistic team. Once their play is final, it enters a formal production process, rehearses and is produced for our community.

Each spring, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis will produce the Story 2 Stage Festival of New Student Works, with professional actors and directors from the St. Louis area collaborating with student writers to bring their work to life!

Plays for the festival will be selected through a submission process that is open to all students 18 and under currently registered in a K-12 learning program. The deadline for submissions for the 2024 festival is February 1, 2024.

Once plays are selected for production, student writers will have the opportunity to attend a Mentor Day, where they will get to work with professional writers to hone their plays ahead of rehearsals. They will also be able to attend a rehearsal of their play, and the final performance. Interested in submitting a play? Keep scrolling to find out how!
