SCHOOL RESIDENCY PROGRAM
STUDENTS’ STORIES TAKE CENTER STAGE!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our Teaching Artists will come to schools in the St. Louis region for a 10-session residency in which they will lead students in a playwrighting experience. Students will play fun theatre games, explore ensemble building, learn about creative storytelling, explore the elements of rehearsal and performance, write a play and perform an in-class staged reading of their final works. On the final week, students will have an opportunity to share their work in front of their school community. Each residency will end with a brief survey and reflection to hear how students have grown and what they have learned. All students who have finished a play will then submit their new piece to our statewide festival in which several works will be fully produced by the creative team at The Rep!

EDUCATORS
Beginning Fall 2023, you can book this 10-session residency for your students! The program is adaptable for Kindergarten-12th grade classes, and features a combination of active theatre games to help inspire creativity and writing exercises to activate the inner writer inside of every student!
